The Silver Team is open to swimmers who are at least six year old and are able to swim 25 yards of both freestyle and backstroke. Practices are 1 hour in length, two times per week from Mid-September to May, and four to five days a week during the summer months.
From September to May, the Silver Team also welcomes seasonal swimmers who compete during the summer months under their summer swim clubs. Our practices will keep these swimmers active and give them a chance to advance their techniques.
Training Focus
The Silver Team serves both as an introduction to competitive swimming and prepares our swimmers for the Gold Team. Emphasis is on swimming technique in the four competitive strokes and individual medley, starts and turns, as well as introduction to swimming meets.
Cost
Silver Team swimmers can leave and re-join CSST at any time from September to May. During the summer months, CSST encourages swimmers to complete the 8 week program.

Practice Locations and Schedule (September - May)
Silver Team swimmers can choose one of the following convenient locations as their primary practice pool. Sometimes, silver team swimmers may be asked to practice at one of the other locations when their primary pool is temporarily unavailable.
- Colorado College (Usually Tuesday and Thursday 5:45 - 6:45 p.m.)
- Doherty High School (Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.)
- Coronado High School (Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.)
In the event of inclement weather, practices at Doherty High School (Academy District 20) and Coronado High School (Colorado Springs District 11) will be cancelled according to the respective district's closure policy. That is, if the school is closed that day, there will be no practices. If the school has a delayed start, then practices will be held.
Practice Locations and Schedule (Summer)
During the summer months, CSST's silver team practices 4 to 5 days a week. Swimmers are encouraged to participate in fun "splash" meets one day a week, usually on either Wednesdays or Fridays. There is no practice on the day of the meet.
Price is for the entire 8 week program, also includes a CSST t-shirt, swim cap, and splash meets and USA Swimming registration (subtract $29 if swimmers are already registered with USA Swimming). Cost for the summer program is around $200 (subject to change).
