The Colorado Springs Swim Team's SwimAmerica Program is looking for instructors (ages 15&up) and volunteers (ages 13&14) for our lesson programs.
New applicants who are 15 or older will be certified as SwimAmerica Instructors through The American Swimming Coaches Association. CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Instruction (WSI) are NOT required for certification in the SwimAmerica Program. The Training Manual is $24 and is payable to CSST upon acceptance of an offered position with the program.
New applicants interested in volunteering (13&14 year-olds) will be trained free of charge, registered with SwimAmerica and placed as assistants with an instructor to insure the safety of our participants. At the time of your 15th birthday, you will be guaranteed a paid position as an instructor on the SwimAmerica Staff. Please note Instructor's Assistants are only utilized during our summer programming.
Summer staff training generally takes place in late May. School-year staff training takes place on an as-needed basis.
Starting Salary with SwimAmerica is $7.02/hour, and is commensurate with experience and applicable certifications.
